in search of colours - yukie smith / ponor

"...It’s been a year since we witnessed one of the biggest earthquake and tsunami disasters ever recorded, on March 11^th, 2011. Having seen ongoing work by many volunteers to help rebuild the lives of those who were affected by the disaster, I realized the importance of supporting those who contributes their time and efforts. Living overseas, there are limited actions I can take to offer my help. But I thought I’d like to do my bit the best way I can as a musician to contribute. I’ve decided to release a piece of piano music and its score, which I wrote thinking about those who were affected by the disaster.

The piece is to raise funds for the Akaihane Disaster Relief Volunteer & NPO Support Fund for the Japan Earthquake & Tsunami
(赤い羽根共同募金) for their ongoing efforts to help rebuild lives.

本当に日が経つのは早いもので、東北大震災から一年が経ちました。私なりに何かできないかと、大震災一周年記念に被災者を思って書いたピアノのソロ曲をシングル・アルバムとして　http://yukiesmith.bandcamp.com/album/in-search-of-colours　からリリースし、募金活動を行なうことにしました。曲をダウンロードすると曲の譜面がついてくるようになっています。

集めたお金は全て、赤い羽根共同募金に直接私から送金することになります。大震災の一周年記念に当たって、いんなサイトでこれまでの復興活動の記録を見たり読んだりして改めて、助けの手を差し伸べることの大切差を痛感しました。海外からできることは本当に少ないですが、音楽家としてできることはこれからも支援を続けて行きたいと思います。

今回のチャリティー活動では、ビジュアル・アーティストのリンダ・パーマーさんが快く参加してくださり、シングル・リリースに当たっては、カバー・アートのデザインを担当、そして音楽とアートを合体させたビデオ製作を実現させることができました。このビデオの目的は、世界中の皆さんに私達からの心を込めた画像音楽のメッセージを送ることです。そして、心の安らぎを捧げることができたら思います。
